Two (shoddy) Madison points 1,100-300 B.P.
My coworkers were calling it a "Fatty Maddy"

A great Madison point! (I found this one)

Found this point in a field in Orland!
Five minutes away from my home.

I can't remember exactly where this was
but it was pretty. Lots of bees though.

I thought I found a point after a long day of
finding nothing, but it was actually just a flake
(which is still something but not as cool)

I was assigned GPS duty this day.
Had to pretend to look like I knew what I was doing.

Another day of digging shovel tests

...And yet another

This was the same field after our lunch break.

This site was right by the Plush Horse
and we got done early,
so I went and got Ice Cream after

My coworker Calvin found this and screamed.
It's a Fox Valley point dating around 8,000 years old!!

Then Calvin screamed again but this time it was a little friend

These are what the artifacts look like after
we bring them back to the lab and wash them.

This little guy was just sitting right on
the surface in a forest preserve.
Didn't even have to dig.

Bachelor's Grove AHHH!
It was spooky even in the broad daylight.

I had to get new gear once it started getting cold.

Faith and I were trying to keep our faces warm.

When digging shovel tests, we have to
carry around these little portable screens
to sift through all the dirt.

Chickens!

Historic display we brought to the
Sand Ridge Nature Center for Heritage Day

Timeline display of stone tools for the same event

Prehistoric display
(Put together by yours truly)

People could bring in any artifacts
in their possession for identification.

We used this book as a reference
to try to identify some tools.

Super cool fossil.

Calvin showing the displays to a nice lady.

On my days off
the bones seek their revenge.
